I have been restoring a boat and a camper and the camper was losing. Still I needed a camper to live in while working on my boat, and for travel. I have two Portuguese Water Dogs, one of which is a puppy and need a place for them to stay if it is too cold, or too wet, or too snowy for them to be running around, so I found another camper in early December--the best time of year to buy a boat or a camper because no one is buying that time of year.
History: This camper was bought by a man who died shortly after purchasing it. He left it to his daughter who used it for four trips to Florida and then left it in a barn for many years. Recently she gave it to her step-son to sell to help with s deposit on a first home.
What I bought for a modest sum of money was an essentially new camper that is 15 years old. The shower curtain and curtain rings were still in their plastic bags.
I found a few defects:
Dirty extertior
A dime sized stain on the carpet under the dinette.
A quarter sized hole in one vent screen.
Two broken bottom brackets for two separate blinds.
A lame looking light weight sewer hose.
Plastic vinyl trim on the exterior had shrunk and pulled away from it's track in a few places, in others this trim was badly stained.
Roof top vent sealing was cracked and needs to be resealed with Dicor.
Some rust on the electric jack mounting brackets.
Some discoloration on the exterior plastic trim.
No battery.
No generator.
No solar panels.
Upgrades:
No upgrades were done to this camper. It is essentially like a new camper off the lot that needs a lot of finishing touches, like a trash can, galley gear like utensils and pots and pans.
